The readerboard outside Southminster Presbyterian Church in Boise, Idaho (we're cool like that in the 208).Wow, a lot has happened since I last checked in here. Sorry for the absence -- it's been an interesting drought, but I think I'm on the other side of it. Life's good, though.  My family is growing up too fast, my work in the world of education is satisfying and busy, and we've gotten to go on some great trips thanks to my amazing husband.Prince's death was a big deal for me. I think because he seemed to be cooking along, his own sassy self, and suddenly he was gone.  In the summer of 1984 Purple Rain was on heavy repeat and yes, I'll admit that I can completely remember staying in the Tennessee Technological University dorms for band camp and playing "Let's Go Crazy" LOUD and often (let the band camp and band geek jokes commence -- I was a huge band dork so it's warranted). And the last piece of news is that I have FINALLY shipped Use Somebody off to the publisher. I'm not 100% sure why it was such a beast to work on, but Lord, it was. I'm proud of it now that it's done, and I'm excited to dive into a new project.I'll tell you more about Use Somebody in the coming weeks and post some pics of the area where it's set, the South Fork of the Snake River, near Yellowstone country. Seriously gorgeous.Hope you are all well! Leave a comment and let me know what you're up to these days.I will leave you with proof that Prince was a bad ass.  The legend (possibly complete bunk but still fun) goes that someone asked Eric Clapton how it felt to be the greatest guitar player of all time and he responded, "I don't know, go ask Prince."http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/watch-princes-incredible-my-guitar-gently-weeps-solo-20160421
